Young women from PeacePlayers programs in Los
Angeles, Brooklyn, Detroit, and Baltimore came
together March 27-30 in Los Angeles for the
second Girls Summit, a three-day celebration of
leadership, sisterhood, and the power of sport.
Centered around the theme “Live Loud,” the
summit encouraged participants to embrace their
voices, chase their dreams, and lead in their
communities.
Throughout the weekend, girls participated in leadership workshops,
networking sessions, and community-building activities designed to build
confidence on and off the court. Highlights included WSLAM Media Day, where
they learned to own the spotlight with their stories and strength. Additional
highlights included a tournament at the LA Clippers’ Intuit Dome, a March
Madness watch party and networking brunch at Nike LA HQ, where
participants learned from experts about financial literacy, impacting their
community, and walking into any room with confidence. Participants also gave
back by leading a community play day for more than 200 children impacted by
the Los Angeles wildfires, an effort recognized by LA Mayor Karen Bass who
attended the event.
2025 GIRLS SUMMIT PARTNERS
“Sport is a way to bring people together, a way to leave behind – for a few
minutes, or an hour – the things that are challenges to you, and work
together in a way that you’re united, because the only way to really make
things better is to work together.”
