UNITING YOUTH IN DETROIT THIS SUMMER
The PeacePlayers Friendship Games is a global gathering that
unites young leaders from PeacePlayers sites around the world
for a week of cultural exchange, leadership development, and, of
course, basketball. Launched and supported by Ed and Penelope
Peskowitz, the Friendship Games provides a unique opportunity
for youth from all four PeacePlayers sites to come together, learn
from one another, and form lifelong global connections.
The first in-person Friendship Games took place in 2022 in the
Middle East, marking the beginning of an inspiring tradition of
using basketball to unite youth from across the world. Now, as
we gear up for another exciting Friendship Games this July in
Detroit, U.S., anticipation is building for yet another
unforgettable experience. Scheduled for July 27 to August 3,
2025, the Friendship Games will include basketball, tailored
workshops and cultural activities designed to foster leadership,
global connections, and the feeling of being part of something
bigger.
