Almost 30 years after Apartheid, young people in South Africa
face persistent challenges of unemployment, social and economic
division, and unequal access to education and other resources.
South Africa has been ranked the most unequal country in the
world, with 80% of the wealth owned by 10% of the population.
Our children and youth hold the keys to peace and social
transformation. For over 20 years, PeacePlayers South Africa
has used basketball to foster personal development and positive
relationships for people of diverse racial and socioeconomic
backgrounds, developing youth leaders for a more equitable,
prosperous future for the Rainbow Nation.
